Join Helene on the mighty Pridefinder Podcast Studio for a chat. Stay tuned for the exciting location in Shepparton’s CBD (Hint: Maude Street Mall near Village Cinema, 9AM – 6PM).
The Pridefinder is a podcast studio on wheels, touring around regional communities within Victoria to collect stories about the LGBTQIA+ experience. This story-gathering project will travel to regional locations that have or will host an event within Midsumma’s Regional Activation Program.
Helene Thomas is an award-winning audio producer, advocate and great ally for our community with a passion for collecting and sharing stories and she will be the captain of Pridefinder’s journey and The Wayfinders inaugural trip from Tasmania to the mainland. She will collect stories focusing on the lives, history and reflections of regional LGBTQIA+ people.
These recordings will then be presented at Victoria’s Pride Street Party on February 12, 2023.
Facebook event here.

Hey there, everyone!
It is with absolute joy that we invite you all to share pieces of your rainbow history, that tell the story of our collective, long, windy & very bumpy road, to LGBTIQA+ pride in rural Victoria!
We will be gathering your precious pieces with love, respect & care & displaying them from February – May 2023 in a couple of special exhibitions across the GV, with a great sense of remembrance & celebration.
You can share physical items, photos, videos, audio or written pieces – big or small.
We are looking for:
🏳️🌈 Placards & signs from marches, rallies, celebrations & protests
🏳️⚧️ Clothing & items worn at marches, rallies, protests, days of significance or celebration
🏳️🌈 Art depicting LGBTIQA+ themes
🏳️⚧️ LGBTIQA+ news clippings, articles & media stories
🏳️🌈 Photos, videos & audio of interest
🏳️⚧️ Photos or clips of the places in our area you feel safe, included & celebrated when visiting
🏳️🌈 Photos of signs of safety & inclusion in our area
🏳️⚧️ And anything else you think people would like to see or hear about our pride journey (positive or negative)
If you have something to share, please contact our GV Pride committee member Nicole (she/her) via phone or text on 0458 972 416 or email nicole@gvpride.org
We look forward to hearing from you! 💖
